The LSCW 2008 workshop with a theme: To change others, we may have to change ourselves first, held from the 2nd – 14th November 2008 at HBC Resort, Kuru-Vom Road, Jos Plateau State with 18 participants in attendance drawn from different projects and programmes from within and outside Nigeria. It was facilitated by Benjamin Lozare, Director of training and Associate Director, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Center for Communication Programs and Babafunke Fagbemi, Executive Director Center for Communication and Social Impact. Organizations represented include STRADCOM Tanzania, JHU CCP Tanzania, Society for Family Health (SFH), Family Health International (FHI) Global HIV/AIDS Initiative, AIDS Prevention Initiative Nigeria (APIN), Medical Fields, ICAP Nigeria, Pharmaceutical services, JHU Cote d’Ivoire, USAID/COMPASS project, Daar communications, Nursing and Midwifery Council, Presbyterian church in Rwanda, CASSAD Nigeria, Ku Saurara Project, River State Ministry of Health.
